Calendar Project

The calendar is an actual representation of 2006, the year I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  There is nothing depicting any element of the disease.  The piece is partially drawn from the Jewish tradition and the expression “let us make every day count,” which invokes the 49 days between Passover and Shavuot.  Regardless of what we are counting–the number of treatments remaining, the number of weeks until the baby is due or the number of days left in the week until it’s finally Friday–we almost always have a calendar at the center of our lives.
